Maria Boa
Maria Boa, from Mexico, was elected as part of the TUNZA Youth Advisory Council of UNEP during the International Children Conference in Bandung, Indonesia, as regional representative for Latin America and Caribbean. She has a bachelor degree on Management of Natural Resources by the Marist University of Merida, Mexico, which specifically study on the responsible use and management of our resources, human and naturals. About her career, she have worked in searching projects about small scale fisheries in Mexico with the Marist University of Merida in cooperation with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and made her social service in the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (SEMARNAT). She likes traveling, taking pictures, reading books, and loves the work of field, enjoying nature and learning from people.

Actually, She has high passion on sustainable development issues. She won the Youth State Prize of the 2011 in Protection of the Environment. One of her recent projects is 'Colectivo Na'Lu'um' that is a network of university groups and civilian associations interested in the development of their capacities, share information and be agents of change in the environmental issues. Also, she is developing a research on the social perspective of the risk associated with climate change in fishing communities.
