Jechul Yoo works as a Senior Programme Officer in the Climate Change Adaptation Unit of the Division of Environmental Policy Implementation in the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
Yoo is currently dedicated to developing UNEP-wide climate change adaptation programme and projects, and will be coordinating, implementing and executing some aspects of the programme and projects. He was seconded to UNEP from the Korean Government in August 2006. Prior to joining UNEP his primary area of expertise was on urban environment issues, with a focus on the Asian region.
His environmental career started at the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Korea from December 1992. His work experience includes nature conservation, public relations, industrial and solid waste management, extended producers’ responsibility for recycling, R & D of environmental technology, urban planning, chemical management and chemical-related emergency response systems.
He holds a Master degree in Environment and Development from the University of Manchester, UK.
