Johanne Jelnes
Johanne Jelnes is a programme officer with the Freshwater and Terrestrial Ecosystems Branch of UNEP in Nairobi. Her main activities focus on the protection and restoration of aquatic ecosystems, Integrated Water Resources Management and Climate Change and Water. In addition Johanne is responsible of the UNEP freshwater website, coordination of UNEP activities on water and the cooperation with the UNEP/DHI Center on Water.

Prior to joining UNEP, Johanne had both national and international working experiences. She worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the area of recruitment of environmental specialist for projects. Internationally she worked in the UN Department for Economic and Social Affairs in the Division for Sustainable Development with the preparation of the Johannesburg summit in 2002.

Johanne holds a Masters Degree in Development Studies and Intercultural Business Strategy from the Copenhagen Business School.
