Leo Heileman
Leo Heileman is the Head of the Business and Industry Unit of the Sustainable Consumption and Production Branch of the United Nations Environment Programme, Division of Technology, Industry and Economics in Paris. He is a Chemist by training and has completed graduate studies in Marine Pollution Chemistry in Liverpool University, UK; Management Studies at the University of the West Indies in Trinidad and Tobago; and Environmental Pollution Control and Operations Research at Pennsylvania State University, USA.

He has worked in the area of marine and industrial environmental research, intergovernmental negotiations of Multilateral Environmental Agreements and in Industrial environmental management in the oil and petrochemical industry. Mr. Heileman has worked with the UNEP for the past 16 years based in Mexico, Kenya and France in various capacities ranging from managing Latin America and Caribbean regional programmes on industry and environment to global programmes including regional cooperation, Ozone Layer protection and sustainable consumption and production. His has broad knowledge in the areas of industry, sustainable consumption and production, pollution control, disaster preparedness (APELL) and analytical and marine chemistry.
