Xenya Scanlon
Xenya joined UNEP in 2007 as Programme Officer with the Urban Environment Unit, before taking the position as Information Officer with the Division on Communications and Public Information in 2008. She is currently coordinating the Climate Neutral Network, an initiative led by UNEP to promote global action towards low-carbon economies and societies.

Prior to UNEP, she had worked for a range of environmental organizations in Russia, Switzerland, Australia and Kenya, including WWF, the International Union for the Conservation of Nature, the International Institute for Sustainable Development, and Clean Up the World. She has also tried her hand at journalism, reporting on environmental issues for global news agencies and small scientific magazines alike.

Her background is in international relations and communications, and she holds a Masters Degree from the Moscow State Institute for International Relations (MGIMO University). Xenya is a Russian national.
