Eva Duer
Eva Duer is a Legal Officer in UNEP's Division of Environmental Law and Conventions (DELC) and is also the team leader of the Information and Knowledge Management (IKM)Team. DELC is the lead Division for one of UNEP's six priority sub-programmes, the Environmental Governance, which aims to promote informed environmental decision-making to enhance global and regional environmental cooperation.

The IKM team supports a group of Multilateral Environmental Agreements (MEAs) Secretariats who jointly work toward better sharing knowledge and information for the benefits of the Environmental Community in a programme now referred to as the "MEA-IKM initiative". Today, the MEA IKM Initiative brings together over 18 global and regional MEA Secretariats, hosted by 4 UN Organisations and the International Union for Nature Conservation (IUCN).These institutions jointly manage the flagship product of this initiative - The United Nations Portal on Multilateral Environmental Agreements [InforMEA].

Recently the InforMEA Portal has been enhanced with the E-learning Tool, which provides free and self-paced online courses such as introductory courses to each of the main global MEAs. The Team further supports Ecolex - The Gateway to Environmental Law - which is a partnership between FAO, IUCN and UNEP that seeks to promote a more coherent presentation of the unique body of International Environmental Law.

Previously, Eva worked as programme Officer in the Climate Change Law Unit of DELC, where she was responsible for providing assistance to governments on legislation issues around mitigation and adaptation to Climate Change as well as with the preparation of regional and sub regional climate change negotiators' workshops in the run up to UNFCCC COP15-16. Other previous positions in UNEP included Special Assistant to the Director of the Division of Regional Cooperation and also as an Associate Legal Officer in the same Division. Before joining UNEP Eva worked in various law firms and private sector companies in Europe.

Eva holds a Masters of Science Degree in Law from the University of Vienna which included one year of European Law Studies in Paris (Universit? Paris V Descartes), as well as an LLM in International Law from King's College London (University of London).
