Andrea Brusco
Andrea Brusco is the Legal Officer for UNEPs Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean, under the Division of Environmental Law and Conventions DELC.

Andrea is responsible of the implementation of UNEPs Environmental Law Programme in the region, assisting countries in the development and advancement of environmental law, through the enactment of new legislation and the implementation, enforcement of and compliance with environmental law and multilateral environmental agreements. Work at the regional level includes support to sub regional and regional processes (such as the Latin American Parliament) and the establishment of networks among governmental and non governmental legal stakeholders. Important components of the plan of work are capacity building and training on legal matters related to the environment, at the national, sub regional and regional levels.

Prior to joining UNEP in early 2007, she worked as Director of Environmental Promotion and Sustainable Development at the Environment and Sustainable Development Secretariat of Argentina. In this capacity she participated in national and regional processes for the enactment of environmental legislation, and she assumed the role of National Coordinator of the Global Environmental Citizenship Programme, among others. She was Professor of International Private Law at Universidad del Salvador, Buenos Aires.

Andrea was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and holds a Bachelor degree in Law and a Masters degree in International Relations.
