Diana Rizzolio
Diana Rizzolio is the Coordinator of the Geneva Environment Network (GEN). The GEN Network is a cooperative partnership of over 75 environment and sustainable development organizations based in the Geneva area, including United Nations offices and programmes, local authorities, academic institutions and non-governmental organizations. GEN actively promotes increased cooperation and networking between its members by organizing and hosting meetings on the environment and sustainable development, such as roundtables and international workshops.

Set up in 1999, the GEN secretariat, led by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and supported by the Swiss Federal Office for the Environment, is based in the International Environment House (IEH), which gathers under a common roof a range of United Nations and non-governmental organizations active in the field of environment and sustainable development. During the past sixteen years, GEN has provided an environmental information and knowledge resource center providing information services for the benefit of governments, inter-governmental and non-governmental organizations, academic institutions, policy makers, visiting delegations and the general public.

Diana joined UNEP in December 1998, working for UNEP/GRID-Europe (through a partnership with the University of Geneva), as well as for the former Post-Conflict Assessment Unit and the former Balkans Unit. Before joining UNEP, she worked for a Regional department of the Ministry of Environment of Portugal and at an NGO based in Geneva. Diana was also a member of the Parliament of the City of Geneva and an active member in a number of trusts and NGOs.

Diana holds a Master of Science Degree from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology of Lausanne, Switzerland. She was born in Lisbon, Portugal, and has three daughters.
