Mia Turner
Mia Turner works in UNEP's Division of Communications and Public Information. Since 2002 she has covered conflicts and disasters as a spokesperson for the United Nations World Food Programme, the food and emergency arm of the United Nations, seeing first-hand the growing impact of climate change in developing countries around the world.

A former Beijing correspondent for TIME magazine and Reuters in Hong Kong, she is also trained as a sinologist in Nankai University in Tianjin, China, and the Institute of Oriental Languages in Paris, France.

She is a fluent Mandarin speaker and has a graduate degree in
international affairs with a specialization in international political economy.
