Olivier Deleuze
After six years working at UNEP Headquarters, Olivier Deleuze has been appointed Director of the UNEP Liaison Office to the European Union in Brussels. Aiming to strengthen relations between UNEP and the EU, the Brussels Office initiates regular policy dialogues with the EU institutions and promotes UNEPs activities and programmes.
Before joining the UNEP Brussels Office, Mr Deleuze served as Chief, Major Groups and Stakeholders Branch, Division of Regional Cooperation at UNEP Headquarters. He also held the positions of Officer in Charge of the Division of Global Environment Facility Coordination and Chief of the Policy Unit at the Office of the Executive Director.
Prior to joining UNEP, Mr Deleuze was State Secretary, Member of the Belgian Government in charge of Energy and Climate.
His professional career has included assignments with the Belgian Parliament, a non-governmental organization and the private sector.
A Belgian national, Mr. Deleuze is a graduate of the University of Louvain, Belgium, and holds a Masters Degree in Agronomics.
