Doris Mutta
Doris Mutta is an Associate Project Officer with the Nairobi Convention for the Protection, Management and Development of the Coastal and Marine Environment in the Western Indian Ocean Region. She is particularly involved in contributing to the implementation of the Work Programme for the Nairobi Convention on thematic areas including Management; Assessment and Capacity Building; Coordination and Legal aspects; and Information and awareness.

A forester by profession with advanced training in MSc in Botany and Ph.D. in Environmental Studies, Doris joined UNEP in March 2009 after 20 years working for the Government of Kenya as a research scientist and the Centre Director for the Kenya Forestry Research Institute (KEFRI) Coast Region Research Programme. This involved working with coastal communities including government, non-governmental organizations, the private sector, and indigenous communities on biodiversity, medicinal plants, forest management, ecology, anthropology, traditional knowledge, institutional, legal and policy studies.
