Liazzat Rabbiosi
Ms. Liazzat Rabbiosi is a Programme officer with the UNEP’s Division of Technology, Industry and Economics. She is responsible for work related to capacity building for SMEs in developing countries and currently coordinates UNEP eco-innovation project implemented in 9 countries around the world.

Gaining more and more attention in the business world, eco-innovation is a holistic life cycle-based approach which aims at creating business strategies and business models that are both competitive and sustainable. The eco-innovation project has an objective of developing local resources and capacities for eco-innovation in developing countries. Targeting SMEs as project beneficiaries, the project works with service providers within UNEP-UNIDO Resource Efficiency and Cleaner Production network, other business intermediaries, and national governments.

Prior to this, Liazzat was developing eco-labeling and consumer information portfolio of UNEP. Her experience also include work in academia and UN system at the country level, with a consultancy firm where she participated in environmental and social impact assessment of oil and gas industry, and with a multilateral environmental agreement such as Ramsar Convention on Sustainable Use of Wetlands.

She holds MSc in Environment and Development from London School of Economics and MSc in Environmental Studies from Strathclyde University in Scotland. She is a national of Kazakhstan, and in addition to her native Kazakh and Russian, she speaks English, French and Italian.
