Elected to represent African Youth on the UNEP Tunza Youth Advisory Council, Kevin has helped organize several high profile national and regional events focusing on sustainability and youth, and represents youth in the work of the African Ministerial Conference on the Environment. Kevin played an active role in 2009's Seal the Deal! Campaign, engages civil society groups and the Kenyan Government on youth issues, takes part in school outreach initiatives and is involved with the International Youth Climate Movement, which is the official youth constituency to the UNFCCC secretariat.
Kevin will soon graduate with a BSc in Environmental Planning and Management from Kenyatta University. He has been and intern in UNEP's Division of Communications and Public Information in the Children and Youth as well as at Kenya's Ministry of Environment where he worked on environmental education; at Kenya's National Environment Management Authority where he worked on environmental impact assessments and audits; and in the Ministry of Local Government where he worked on slum upgrading project.
He is leader of Kenyatta University's Environmental Club and worked with colleagues to form the Inter-varsity Environment Network through which he has been involved in UNEP's initiative on Mainstreaming Environment and Sustainability in African Universities. Kevin's dream is for a world that respects both inter-generational and intra-generational fairness and equity in advancing the development agenda.
