Wali Modaqiq
Wali Modaqiq joined the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) on 15 September 2004 as National Project Coordinator for the GEF funded project for carrying out NCSA and preparing NAPA (NCSA-NAPA projects).

He was appointed as National Programme Officer for Multilateral Environmental Agreements (MEAs) on 1 January 2008. On 1 January 2009, he was promoted to Assistant Programme Manager and since April 2010, he has been serving as the Officer-in-Charge of the UNEP Afghanistan Programme.

He was a member of the UNEP's team in the Post-Conflict Assessment of Afghanistan as a National Consultant in 2002. He also served as a forester for 12 years in the field of forestry and wildlife conservation in Governmental Organizations and Non-Governmental Organizations in Afghanistan. He is a graduate of Kabul University in forestry and natural resources.
