Mario Boccucci
Mario is the Chief of the Terrestrial Ecosystems Unit at UNEP's Division for Environmental Policy Implementation whose portfolio include forests, drylands, cultivated land, mountains and flagships such as REDD, the Masai Mau forest in Kenya and the Mayombe transboundary project.

Mario has 18 years of experience with international organizations on operational and policy work on sustainable management of land resources, forest management, governance of natural resources, biodiversity, land uses and climate change mitigation.

Prior to joining UNEP in Nairobi in October 2008, Mario was with the World Bank as Senior Climate Change and Forests Specialist and previously with the European Commission; he was based and worked in several locations including Belize, Morocco, South East Asia, South Pacific, Washington DC and is now homed in Nairobi.
