David Piper
David Piper is, by profession, a Geologist educated at Oxford University and the University of Wales. He worked for 25 years for the British Geological Survey, providing technical assistance and capacity building in Africa, before joining UNIDO in 2001 and UNEP in 2004 to support many countries around the world to implement the international conventions regulating chemicals of global concern. Since 2009 he has been Coordinator for UNEPs subprogramme on Harmful Substances and Hazardous Waste; Deputy Head of the UNEPs Chemicals Branch and Team Leader for work on heavy metals, including the work of the Global Mercury Partnership.
