Stefan Knights
Stefan Knights is a national of Guyana. He is a lawyer with postgraduate qualifications in Sustainable Development and Legislative Drafting.

Stefan addresses issues relating to environmental democracy such as rights on access to information, public participation in decision-making processes and access to justice.

From 2013 to 2015, Stefan served as the UNEP's Youth Advisor for Latin America and the Caribbean. He has coordinated a plethora of grassroots initiatives in Latin America and the Caribbean geared towards achieving sustainability. Stefan has also written several articles on matters relating to, amongst other things, climate change, illegal trade in wildlife, sustainable consumption and production, water quality and accessibility and trade relations.

Stefan was groomed by the Caribbean Youth Environment Network (CYEN) which has been promoting youth development and empowerment, and environmental advocacy in nineteen (19) countries in Latin America and the Caribbean for over twenty (20) years. Through CYEN he has participated in several development processes in the region and around the world. From 2013 to 2015 he served as the Special Envoy to CYEN on Small Island Developing States. Through his involvement in the UNEP-TUNZA and the CYEN processes, Stefan has become very knowledgeable about, and adept at, addressing challenges to sustainable development through verbal and written advocacy, and grass-root projects at the national, regional and international levels.
