Frank Turyatunga
Frank Turyatunga is a Regional Coordinator in the Division of Early Warning and Assessment (DEWA), responsible for the strategic planning, direction and management of DEWA's part in UNEP's programme in Africa, ensuring it responds to UNEP's global mandate as well as to regional and national needs and priorities. His interests and expertise lie in linking scientific information to policy and decision-making at regional, national and sub-national levels in Africa.

A specialist in geographical information systems in the environmental arena, he previously worked at UNEP collaborating centre, GRID Arundel, in Norway as head of their regional field programme and as programme manager for UNEP in disaster management, and before that as Executive Director of Uganda's National Environment Management Authority.

He holds a BSc from Makerere University in Uganda, and a Masters from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland.
