Charles Sebukeera
Charles Sebukeera has over 20 years of national and international experience in environment and sustainable development. He has extensive knowledge and practical experience in environmental institutions development, networking, partnership development, and capacity building for integrated environmental assessment and reporting in Africa, issues which he has been working on for the past 16 years. He is particularly experienced in the development and management of technical aspects of national, regional and international institutional frameworks for environmental management, including negotiating, at senior policy level, appropriate institutional frameworks agreements, processes and procedures for collaborative initiatives in environmental assessment, monitoring and reporting.

Charles was involved in the development of the DEWA Africa programme for the past five years and is familiar with the strategic, technical, financial and other administrative aspects of the Africa programme and the linkages of UNEP work with the work of other UN agencies, funding partners, regional initiatives such as the African Ministerial Conference on Environment (AMCEN), the New Partnership for Africas Development (NEPAD) and the Africa Union (AU), and international organizations. He has worked closely with the UNEP Regional Office for Africa to ensure full integration of DEWA Africa programme activities in national environmental implementation frameworks through AMCEN, the NEPAD environment initiative and Bali Strategic Plan.
