Activities and Projects

Mountain Gorilla

Through its Partnership, GRASP carries out activities and projects to support the survival of great apes in nature and the habitat on which they depend.

Working with local communities to create poverty reduction strategies that simultaneously address poverty and biodiversity loss issues is central to GRASP's conservation philosophy.

GRASP activities include technical missions to range states to address national policy issues through National Great Ape Survival Plan (NGASP) workshops, promotion of great ape related issues at top political levels through visits from the Great Ape Patrons, NGO partner project funding, policy implementation, fundraising, and raising public awareness.

The GRASP Scientific Commission has also been undertaking the prioritization of great ape populations. Click here to view findings
