Great Ape Priority Population Map and Datasheets - Preliminary Findings of the GRASP Scientific Commission

The GRASP Interim Executive Committee determined that an analysis should be conducted to specify those populations of great apes that if protected, would help save great apes from extinction. The problem is that little is known about great ape distributions, densities, and threats at the scales needed to identify those priority populations. Furthermore, a consensus has developed among conservation scientists and policymakers that a system for monitoring these populations and their habitats should be implemented.
