The Caribbean Green Economy Conference 2013 has opened here in Saint Lucia. Delegates to the event are promoting a green economy as the vehicle for sustainable development and poverty eradication in the region. Link to the video

The very first regional conference under the Caribbean Green Economy Initiative "began at the Rex and Royal St. Lucia Hotels. The conference brought together representatives of governments, regional institutions, the private sector and academia from across the Caribbean. The premise of the symposium is the theme "Green Economy as a Vehicle for Sustainable development and Poverty Eradication in the Caribbean". It was jointly organized by the Ministry of Sustainable Development, Energy, and Science & Technology and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). Link to the video
