Towards an Inclusive Green Economy in Latin America and the Caribbean
This two-day workshop, taking place in Montevideo from 17-18 October, aims to provide a platform for regional participants and practitioners to discuss the core challenges and potential solutions for promoting sustainable development and poverty eradication in the region. It also provides an opportunity for participants to assess the global transition to an inclusive green economy, while sharing best practices and policies.
The Government of Uruguay is committed to sustainable development. It is one of several countries partaking in a project sponsored by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU), called "Enhancing low-carbon development by greening the economy." This project, which is carried out in a tripartite partnership between BMU, GIZ and UNEP, aims to provide technical support to developing countries.
