Green Star Awards honour Environmental Heroes working in Disasters and other Emergencies

A not-for-profit organization tackling life-threatening pollution in developing countries and a renowned academic working to make houses safer during earthquakes are among the recipients of this year’s Green Star Awards (GSAs), announced by the United Nations and Green Cross International.

The Award recognizes real-life heroes from around the world who not only exercised courage and leadership to rise from the ruins of environmental disasters but more importantly, also those who worked tirelessly to prevent these, and establish measures to brace for their impact.
