The mercury negotiations process is funded through extra budgetary resources.
The Governing Council, through its decisions 25/5, invited Governements and others in a position to do so to provide such resources to support the process. In follow-up to this, the Executive Director of UNEP sent a letter in early 2009 to all Governements seeking support (English, French, Spanish).
The Governing Council reiterated its request for support to the process in its decision 26/3.
Governments and organizations in a position to support the mercury negotiations process are invited to contact the secretariat.
A "Mercury Club" has been established to recognize support received from Governments and others.
