National Strategic Plan, Guidance document
This guidance document is intended as guidance for Governments in the development of a national strategic plan relating to improving practices and working conditions in artisanal and small-scale gold mining and reducing its impact on the global environment. It aims to assist in uniting various levels of Government, miners, civil society and the public in a common mission to improve the quality of life in artisanal and small-scale gold mining communities. Any part of the text in this document may be used in drafting the National Strategic Plan.
The document has been drafted by the Chemicals Branch of the UNEP Division of Technology, Industry and Economics in consultation with a number of partners. The document has been reproduced without formal editing.
