UNEP / IRAQI MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT EXHIBITION TOUR ON "NATURE IN IRAQ"
UNEP International Environmental Technology Centre (IETC) has organized the Exhibition Tour on "Nature in Iraq". Started from "Interactive Fair for Biodiversity", the open event of the Convention of Biological Diversity – the 10th Meeting of the Conference of Parties (CBD COP10) in Nagoya in October 2010, the exhibition was toured through Global Environment Outreach Centre (GEOC) in Tokyo, Osaka Municipal Central Library in Osaka and UNEP-IETC - International Lake Environment Committee (ILEC) in Shiga in the past one month and half. We would like to express our gratitude to visitors, and we believe the exhibition successfully helped them learn about ecosystem and biodiversity in Iraq, years of neglected environmental degradation and UNEP's initiatives in environmental management of the Southern Marshes in Iraq.
During the exhibition at Osaka Municipal Central Library, UNEP-IETC also co-organized "Tour of the World's Water" lecture series with Global Environment Centre Foundation (GEC) and delivered a lecture on "Traditional water practice in the Middle East" as its first session.
We hereby express our gratitude to Global Environment Outreach Centre (GEOC), Osaka Municipal Central Library, Global Environment Centre Foundation (GEC), International Lake Environment Committee Foundation (ILEC) and United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) for the cooperation and support extended to the exhibition tour on "Nature in Iraq".
