Toward an Urban-Industrial Symbiosis - Actions from Kawasaki: Strengthening Cooperation among Cities in Asia to Achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) -

Kawasaki city is organizing a forum in collaboration with UN Environment International Environmental Technology Centre on 1 February 2018. Our Director Keith Alverson is invided to provide a keynote speech on UN Environment and Cities in Asia: working together to improve solid waste management and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, and Programme Officer Shunichi Honda will coordinate the second session "Environmental Technology to Help Achieve SDGs" at the forum.

This forum is to be jointly held with the Kawasaki International Eco-Tech Fair 2018 (1-2 February 201&) in order to showcase the superb environmental technologies possessed by Kawasaki companies, encourage information exchange about approaches to environmental problems at domestic and international level, and kindling trusting relationships between participant cities.

The mandate of IETC, as agreed in Decision 16/34 of UNEP Governing Council, is the transfer of environmentally sound technologies (EST) to developing countries and countries with economies in transition.
