In celebration of International Women’s Day, UNEP-IETC would like to introduce some of our gender work in recent years.
In response to the COVID-19 Pandemic, UNEP-IETC developed Waste Management during the COVID-19 Pandemic: from response to recovery in 2020. Learn the potential impact of COVID-19 on gender in waste management and proposed actions to be taken (see Section 2.4).
IETC’s gender video series is also available here. Listen to the voices of women and men engaged in waste management from Bhutan, Mongolia, and Nepal, calling for gender-responsive policies on waste management and women’s empowerment. The video series was developed as part of the project on Gender and waste nexus: Experiences from Bhutan, Mongolia and Nepal, published in 2019.
