UNEP’s Labour & Environment initiative aims at strengthening the role of international labour communities in areas related to environmental development in particular and sustainable development in general.  It also aims at promoting the active participation of workers and their trade unions in decisions on the design, implementation and evaluation of national and international policies and programmes on environment and development.  More >>

Green Jobs Initiative
The Green Jobs Initiative is a joint initiative by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the International Labor Organization (ILO), the International Employers Organization (IEO) and the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC), which has been launched to assess, analyze and promote the creation of decent jobs as a consequence of the needed environmental policies. It supports a concerted effort by governments, employers and trade unions to promote environmentally sustainable jobs and development in a climate-challenged world.

This training session is part of the joint UNEP and Sustainlabour project on “Strengthening trade union participation in international environmental processes”, implemented with the support of the Government of Spain.
