On 27 May 2016, the United Nations Environment Assembly 2 adopted Resolution L.9/Rev.1 on Sustainable Consumption and Production at its 2nd session held in Nairobi, Kenya. It acknowledges that further action is needed to address challenges posed by the management of nutrients and their impact on the environment and encourages member states to take the necessary steps to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 12 and related targets in other SDGs.
