The Montreal Protocol offers a good example of how international cooperation in solving a global environmental problem can have significant spill over benefits that promote a Greener Economy. Yet the story is not over; the Protocol has more to contribute to green economy development through the phase out of HCFCs, improving energy performance of the non-HCFC R/AC as well as foam product, through addressing the disposal of banks of ODSs, and through the development and transfer of low global warming potential technologies.
