About the World TV Awards
With the aim of recognizing the crucial role played by media in increasing the awareness of the audience on major issues such as cultural diversity, religious understanding, tolerance and peace, the World TV Award was initially designed by the Asia-Pacific Europe Partnership Committee and established in 2004 with the recommendation of the AIBD on 2 main themes "Religious understanding" and "Conflict resolution".
This year, AIBD continues the World TV Award category on Science & Environment launched in 2011, in collaboration with UNEP OzonAction Programme, Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (ROAP).
The World TV Awards are open to all broadcasters in Asia and the Pacific, Africa, Europe, and North & South America from public, private sector and freelance producers.
The World TV Awards are supported by United Nations Environment Programme OzonAction, Arab States Broadcasting Union, Radio TV Malaysia and The Islamic Broadcasting Union.
