Monitoring and controlling trade in HCFCs: the fast approaching challenge
CFCs should no longer be traded… ODS smuggling is a reality… HCFC trade is relentless… The first control measures for HCFCs come into force in a few short months… Harmonized System (HS) codes for ODS have been amended… Enforceable systems of licensing and quotas need to be in place…Time is short…
National Ozone Units and Customs and enforcement officers need to be well prepared to implement the requirements and trade controls in ODS under their Montreal Protocol commitments.
This webinar aims to provide information and assistance to help achieve this goal – in ensuring an effective licensing and quota system is in place, and that the latest information is available and used by these agencies. The three main topics covered by this event will be:
- Establishing an HCFC import quota system
- The new 2012 HS codes for HCFCs and certain other ODS
- Monitoring of trade in HCFCs
