This photo taken near an island in the Pacific Ocean documents a shoal of fish forming a pattern of Yin and Yang in the crystal-clear turquoise sea water, reminding us that protecting the Ozone Layer is protecting the beauty of nature and life.
Household appliances, like condensing unit of air-conditioner is part of human innovation. Without proper maintenance, it can also cause a refrigerant leakage leading to significant problem to the earth and ozone layer.
Solar energy from pieces of small mirrors could focus thermal energy up to 312-degree Celsius sufficient for extending the life of fresh meat. This simple technology avoids using synthetic refrigerant and electricity to operate refrigerator to preserve food. The use of renewable energy for preserving food avoids adverse impact to not only the ozone layer but also climate change. This also helps reducing food waste.
