General Information:
The Extraordinary Meeting of the Parties to the Montreal Protocol (ExMP) will be held at the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) located at 999 University Avenue (corner Viger Street) Montreal, from 24 to 26 March 2004. The first session will begin at 10.00 a.m. on Wednesday, 24 March 2004 in the Assembly Hall.

Registration schedule:
On-site registration for the ExMP will take place in the Atrium of the ICAO Conference Centre. The registration will begin on Tuesday, 23 March from 9:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m. and will continue until Thursday, 25 March up to 12:00 noon.
To expedite registration, delegates are kindly requested to pre-register using forms attached to the invitation letter.

Entrance to the ICAO Conference Centre:
Due to security precautions, only one entrance to the ICAO Conference Centre will be open for participants. Please use the entrance along University Avenue.

Meetings:
Before the official commencement of the ExMP, the following meeting will take place:

Monday, 22 March 2004
First Meeting of the Bureau of the 15th Meeting of the Parties to the Montreal Protocol. In session at 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. in Conference Room 6. By invitation only.

Pre-session Meeting Documents:
All official pre-session documents will be mailed to the Parties to the Protocol, and others in the mailing list of the Ozone Secretariat. The documents, in the languages available, will also be posted in the home page of the Secretariat and may be downloaded from the website.

Transportation:
Dorval Airport is located on the island of Montreal, about 30 minutes from downtown Montreal. Mirabel Airport is located about 1 hour and 15 minutes from downtown.

Public transportation from the airports is available by shuttle bus or by taxi. Shuttles run
from both Dorval and Mirabel Airports to the Central Station at downtown Montreal, at intervals of 30 minutes, from 5.00 a.m. to 11.00 p.m. Shuttle transport costs from Dorval are approximately: Cdn $11.- (one way), Cdn $19.75 (round trip). Taxi from the bus terminal (Central Station) to nearby hotels will cost approximately Cdn $8.
Taxis also make the trip between Dorval Airport and the downtown area for a flat rate of approximately Cdn. $28.

Visas:

Please apply for your entry visas from the Canadian Embassy or Consulate nearest to you. Our letter of invitation should be included in your submission of request for visas. It is not possible for the Canadian authorities to grant entry visas upon arrival.

Medical insurance:
Participants travelling to Canada are strongly advised to obtain medical insurance before leaving their home country. The cost of medical services is fairly high in Canada and insurance should cover medical and hospital treatment as well as repatriation expenses and life insurance. UNEP/Ozone Secretariat will not assume responsibility for these services.
