To initiate Partnership activities in Western Asia and North Africa, experts on fuels and vehicles, community groups and government representatives met in March 2004 to assess the current situation on lead and sulfur and determine needs and actions plans for the future. The meeting was sponsored by the United Nations (ESCWA, DESA and UNEP) in cooperation with relevant regional organizations.
