  1. Enter the Main title of the published output as it appears on the title page.

 

  1. List the name(s) of the Institutions that authored the output. Consult the front cover, title page or back cover for this information. Note: There may be more than one main Institution.

 

  1. List the name(s) of the collaborating institutions that have contributed information towards the output.

 

  1. Specify the language of analysis i.e. which is the main language used in the document (note is its multilingual, then specify all languages)

 

  1. List the intended target group(s) for the output. The intended Target group(s) may be determined by reading the abstract or executive summary of the output. Please select one or more from the following:

 

a)      Decision makers

 

b)      Public

 

c)       Scientist/Researcher

 

d)      Teachers

 

e)      Students

 

f)        Other (please specify)

 

 

  1. Specify Year of publication as it appears on the title page. If not indicated, give approximate year of publication e.g. copyright year

 

  1. Enter the ISBN (International Standard Book Number) of the output as it appears in the title page. Leave blank if absent or not applicable.

 

  1. Enter the ISSN (International Standard Serial Number) of the output as it appears in the title page. Leave blank if absent or not applicable.

 

  1. Enter the total number of pages of the output if applicable. Note: Enter the Roman and Arabic pagination separately e.g. ii – xi, 1-60.

 

  1. Enter the approximate physical dimensions of the published output in standard sizes e.g. A4, A5

 

  1. Provide a thumbnail image of the publication’s cover if available.

 

  1. For internet published outputs, enter the URL link to the full text if available, e.g. www.unep.org/doc/Africa report. PDF

 

  1. Enter the URL link to the distributors’ website if available, e.g., www.unep.org.

 

  1. Indicate if the output is copyrighted or not.(Y/N)

 

  1. Enter a brief abstract of the output. Information may be derived from the following areas:  synopsis of the output, executive summary or back cover.

 

  1. List the name(s) of the Institution(s) that have provided data that contributed significantly to the production of the output. It should be noted that some collaborating Institutions may have provided the data.

 

  1. Provide a brief reference that specifies other published outputs that are related to this output. This information may be derived from the executive summary, synopsis, abstract, etc. Leave blank if the reference is not indicated.

 

  1. Enter ALL the relevant terms or keywords that describe the subject matter addressed by the output.  Information for this may be derived from the table of contents, chapter headings, abstract or summary given for the output. The list should be as exhaustive as possible BUT care should be taken to ensure that the terms selected are relevant.

 

  1. Enter the appropriate Region, Sub-region, Country, Province/State, District/County, City, geographic domain (e.g. Mount Kilimanjaro, Lake Chad , Arctic region, Zambia ), etc that best describes the geographic coverage of the output.
