Wednesday, 22 April 2015, Brussels | UNRIC - On Tuesday, 14 April, 2015, a packed cinema in Brussels was shown first-hand how to take on large multi-national companies — facing considerable political obstacles — in order to protect a sustainable way of life. Ciné-ONU and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) collaborated on a screening of the independent documentary Walls and the Tiger, which tells the story of a rural community in South India acting collectively to avoid permanent displacement, economic and ecological ruin.

UK Members of Parliament (MPs) call to retain all 17 goals
15 December, 2014 - The Environmental Audit Committee of the House of Commons of UK issued the report, entitled ‘Connected world: Agreeing ambitions Sustainable Development Goals in 2015’. Referring to the process in the lead up to the global ‘sustainable development goals’ to be adopted in 2015, the UK MPs call to retain all the 17 Goals proposed by the Open Working Group. The report also highlights the importance of integrating the three dimensions of sustainable development and guides the UK Government action plans towards sustainable development.
