UNDP and UNEP launch joint Poverty and Environment Facility, 6 February 2007
The joint UNDP-UNEP Poverty and Environment Facility was launched in Nairobi during the 24th session of the UNEP Governing Council by Kemal Dervis, UNDP Administrator, and Achim Steiner, UNEP's Executive Director. The Facility, one of the first concrete examples of UN Reform in action, is designed to help developing countries to integrate sound environment management into their poverty reduction and growth policies.

PEP meeting explored country experiences in mainstreaming, 30 January - 1 February 2007
The 10th meeting of the Poverty Environment Partnership (PEP) took place from 30 January to 1 February 2007 in Nairobi, Kenya. The overall theme for the proceedings was 'Country experiences in mainstreaming environment into national development processes'.

Kenyan delegation learns from the Tanzanian experience of mainstreaming environment, 11-15 September 2006
The Poverty and Environment Initiative (PEI) Kenya delegation went on a mission to Tanzania on 11-15 September 2006 to learn from the Tanzanian experience of mainstreaming environment into national development policy and planning processes. The study visit was a part of the endeavour to facilitate cooperation and sharing of experiences among the seven countries that are implementing the poverty and environment initiative in Africa.

Second Annual meeting of the Poverty and Environment Project, Nairobi, 6-8 June 2006
UNEP’s Poverty and Environment Unit held its Second Annual Meeting in Nairobi. More than 30 participants from the seven pilot countries, including Government focal points and UNDP country office representatives, as well as UNEP-staff attended the workshop. The meeting offered an important opportunity to the project countries to meet and share experiences on the lessons learnt from the implementation of the project to date.
