International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC)

UNEP's participation in the IIRC Working Group

The IIRC is leading the development of a framework for integrated reporting. Integrated Reporting (IR) is a process that results in a communication that details a company’s value creation over time. An integrated report is documentation that shows how an organization’s strategy, governance, performance and prospects lead to the creation of value over the short, medium and long term. It aims to enhance accountability and stewardship with respect to the broad base of capitals (financial, manufactured, human, intellectual, natural, social and relationship) and promote understanding of the interdependencies between them. Communications that result from IR are principally aimed at providers of financial capital.

The Head of UNEP FI represents both UNEP and UNEP FI in the IIRC Working Group, whose role is to provide practical guidance, develop positions and make recommendations as appropriate to the IIRC Board and Council on matters submitted for its review in the context of the IIRC’s initiatives and activities.
