Partnering with the UNEP/UNESCO YouthXchange Initiative

Since its creation in 2001, the UNEP/UNESCO YouthXchange Initiative has been active in more than 45countries, through an impressive collaborative effort involving an international network of more than 50 partner organizations. YouthXchange partners have adapted, translated, printed and disseminated YouthXchange publications and conducted numerous capacity-building and training activities involving youth, youth leaders, educators and teachers and representatives from non-governmental organizations. Partners have also been engaged in developing and implementing communications campaigns to raise sustainable consumption and lifestyles in their countries. YouthXchange partners include ministries of education and environment, youth networks and organizations, environmental and/or educational non-governmental organizations, international organizations and agencies, UN organizations, eco-schools and green campuses organizations as well as consumer organizations.

UNEP and UNESCO invite interested organizations to partner with the YouthXchange Initiative to help create an enabling environment for promoting education for sustainable consumption among young people through the adaptation, translation and dissemination of the YouthXchange publications, as well as conducting capacity-building and awareness raising activities and campaigns on sustainable consumption, with a focus on young people. Please download the Introduction and Partnership document for more information on how to partner with the UNEP/UNESCO YouthXchange Initiative.
