UNEP would not have been able to carry out its worldwide environmental activities without the generous support from donors.
The top priority is the Environment Fund. Your donation to the Environment Fund will contribute directly to UNEP’s core environmental activities in the fields of climate change, hazardous wastes, environmental emergency response, environmental information, assessment and research, fresh water, technology transfer and support to Africa amongst others. Alternatively, you can contribute to specific UNEP initiatives and projects.
UNEP depends almost completely on voluntary contributions, mainly from Governmental sources but also from non-governmental donors, including the private sector and individuals:
Governments
The Environment Fund is the main funding source for UNEP's work programme. In addition, earmarked contributions to specific activities can be made through trust funds.
Non-governmental donors
Donations from the private sector and the world citizens concerned with the environmental problems are very welcome and necessary. Your generous contributions will be acknowledged. Contributions can be either regular i.e. monthly, annually etc or one time. Click here to see the list of non-governmental donors in 2008.
