HOW YOU MAY CONTRIBUTE
Without the generous support from donors, UNEP would not have been able to carry out its worldwide environmental activities.

Your donation to the Environment Fund will contribute directly to UNEP’s core environmental activities in the fields of environmental information, assessment and research, environmental emergency response, fresh water, technology transfer and support to Africa amongst others. Alternatively, you can contribute to specific UNEP initiatives and projects.

UNEP depends almost completely on voluntary contributions, mainly from Governmental sources but also from businesses and individuals:

Governments
The Environment Fund is the main funding source for UNEP's work programme. In addition, earmarked contributions to specific activities can be made through Trust Funds and Earmarked Contributions.

Businesses
In 2001 the first contributions by businesses to the Environment Fund were made. In addition, contributions to certain UNEP activities are most welcome. A number of businesses have supported UNEP activities during the last year.

Individuals
Donations from world citizens concerned with the environmental problems are very welcome and necessary.
Your generous contributions of US$ 250 (minimum) and above are most welcome and will be acknowledged. There is no maximum contribution. Contributions can be either regular i.e. monthly, annually etc or one time.
