Area(s) of Expertise: Mr. Shaofeng Hu has been working as the Regional Network Coordinator since April 2012 for the implementation of the Montreal Protocol for Southwest and the Pacific region following working as the network coordinator for the Pacific Islands Country (PIC) for two years. He had been working in DTIE OzonAction in Paris since later 1999 in the clearinghouse team before moving to Bangkok in Oct 2002 as Programme Officer. He managed Multilateral Fund (MLF) projects in more than 20 countries, and assist countries with policy setting, national phaseout plan development and technical options selection for the phaseout of Ozone Depleting Substance. Prior joining UNEP, he worked in the Ministry of Environmental Protection, China in charging of the coordination of the national ozone policy/strategy, development and implementation of MLF projects and national phaseout plan during 1993-1999. He had been working in the China Research Academy of Environmental Sciences on environmental standards, environmental labeling, and air pollution control plan development for small and medium-sized cities in China. He received his Master Degree for Environment Management and Planning and Bachelor Degree for Chemistry in Peking University, China.
