Area(s) of Expertise: Mr. Jong Pil Park has been working as the Non-Reimbursable Loan Expert on Customs matters since he was seconded by Korea Customs Service in August 2013. He is working in the Compliance Assistance Program with a focus on the Customs-related matters such as a training for Customs officers on Ozone Depleting Substances (ODS) trade, WCO ENVIRONET System, facilitation of the co-operation between UNEP and RILO A/P, etc. Prior to joining UNEP Regional Office of Asia and the Pacific as Non-Reimbursement Loan Expert, Jong Pil PARK worked for Korea Customs Service as chief of Narcotic Investigation Section of Incheon Int’l Airport Customs.  He has more than 24 years of experience in customs enforcement activities and international cooperation fields among foreign customs authorities. At WCO Asia and the Pacific Regional Training Center in Seoul, he taught foreign customs officers on Customs Electronic System (2010-1013). In addition, he also acted as liaison, coordinating domestic and international enforcement activities with other government agencies, foreign customs and DEA as well (2010-2013). He even played a conspicuous role as profiler in the area of air passenger analysis and intervention of contraband.  Mr. Park has Masters’ degree in International Logistics and Transportation from University of Antwerp in Belgium.
