UNEP - Regional Office for Asia Pacific - Science-Policy Dialogues: Integrating Climate Change Adaptation in Development Planning
UNEP in collaboration with SysTem for Analysis, Research and Training (START), World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and various regional partners are engaging scientists and policy makers in West Africa, East Africa and South Asia (Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal) in a range of activities aimed at raising awareness and improving access to scientific information on adaptation, so that decision-makers can better integrate climate change issues in development planning and poverty reduction measures. These activities include national science-policy dialogues, regional knowledge sharing strategies, and regional training. The science-policy dialogues are designed to address the need for better interaction and communication at the science-policy interface on climate change issues, particularly on adaptation.
