The UNEP TUNZA Pacific Youth Environmental Network (PYEN) was established in 1999 as a network of young environmentalist from the South Pacific region who are actively involved in environment, sustainable development and youth projects in their own countries and further abroad. The PYEN Secretariat was in operation at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia and in 2009 was relocated to the Pacific Centre for Environment & Sustainable Development (PACE-SD), University of the South Pacific, Suva, Fiji. PYEN continues its capacity building on environmental issues among youth within the 12 member countries including Australia and New Zealand, Cook Island, Fiji, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Niue, Samoa, Solomon Is, Tokelau, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu. The PYEN Secretariat is promoting its initiative and activities in the Pacific.
