UNEP - Regional Office for Asia Pacific - Cooperation and Alignment of the three Chemical Conventions – the “Synergy Process”
The Conference of the Parties to the Basel, Stockholm and Rotterdam Conventions decided at each of their respective Conference of Parties that there should be greater collaboration and alignment of the three conventions.  These decisions called the synergies decisions, mandate the three Convention Secretariats to hold a Simultaneous Extraordinary Conference of the Parties. This meeting was held in February 2010 in Bali. Following this meeting, the Convention Secretariats are currently working to foster cooperation. This process involves joint capacity building of national focal points of each convention and proposed joint meetings in the region.
