Meeting of the ASEAN Forum on Sustainable Consumption and Production, 28-29 April 2014, Jakarta
The meeting of the ASEAN Forum on Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP) is organized by UNEP and the Government of Indonesia and will take place in Jakarta on 28-29 April 2014. The meeting aims to: operationalize the work of the Forum; define the working relations with relevant ASEAN Working Groups; identify cooperation opportunities between institutions, initiatives and programmes (UN Environment Assembly, 10-Year Framework of Programmes on Sustainable Consumption and Production [10 YFP], SWITCH-Asia, Asia Pacific Roundtable on Sustainable Consumption and Production, etc.); and select priorities for Forum supported activities for 2014-2015 that focus on the five initial programme areas of the 10YFP and the priorities identified in the Asia Pacific 10YFP/SCP Roadmap. This event is funded by the European Union and managed by UNEP's SWITCH-Asia Regional Policy Support programme
Regional Training Workshop on Climate Adaptation Technologies, 9-12 April 2014, Dhaka
UNEP and the International Institute for Environment and Development along with the International Centre for Climate Change and Development are organizing a regional training workshop on climate adaptation technologies from 9-12 April, 2014, in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The aim of the workshop is to raise awareness, share experiences, and provide capacity building training to 16 Asian partner countries (Bangladesh, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Mongolia, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan) on climate change adaptation technologies and their application, in particular targeting water resource management, agriculture, and coastal zone management.

A one-day Joint Meeting of Ozone Officers and Customs Officers is organized by UNEP Compliance Assistance Programme and the Regional Enforcement Network for Chemicals and Waste project team on 4 April 2014 in Luang Prabang, Lao People's Democratic Republic. This meeting aims to strengthen the cooperation between the national ozone units and customs agencies for better management of the in Ozone Depleting Substances’ (ODS) trade, and monitoring illegal trade of ODS as well as chemicals and wastes.
